How much time does it take to get from NY, JFK airport to Manhattan Central Park?

My plane lands 21:00 at NY, JFK airport. I need to get to the bus station near the Central Park on the 34th street. I am a tourist, I’ve never been in NY and I have traveled by subway only once in London. P.s. Is it save to travel by subway at night? Thanks for your kind cooperation in advance 
You mean MegaBus or the Port Authority Bus Terminal? In either case, you should take the AirTrain to Jamaica and then take the (E) to either 34th Street/Penn Station or 42nd Street/Port Authority Bus Terminal. The subway should be fairly safe, even at that hour, since you still have a decent number of people using the trains. The travel time should be around an hour, maybe a little more.
