which airport should I fly into if going to Disney World? how far is the airport to the park?
what transportation can I take from the airport to the park?
MCO is Orlando’s big airport. I’ve always flown into this one. It’s probably a 30-45 minute drive to the parks. If you are staying on Disney property, you can use their Magical Express service. Disney will transport you and your bags for free! Otherwise, you can always take a cab. There is also a Mears shuttle service at the airport. Priced about the same as a cab, but in my experience, a little nicer. There are other hotels that run free shuttles in limited hours, so always ask at your hotel. They might have deals for their guests, also.

Florida = Orlando International Airport. Take a shuttle and stay in the park. Its an easy drive. Plan on one hour from touchdown to gather your bags, catch the bus and get there.

Rates for airfair can differ considerably from airport to airport. You should do price comparisons from your local area airport(s) to both MCO (Orlando International), & SFB (Sanford-just outside of Orlando heading towards Daytona Beach). Also check different travel days for best rates. As far as ground transportation, I’m assuming that you will be staying in a hotel locally. I would rent a car at the airport that you are flying in to. I would also reserve that ahead of time so that you know that that detail of your trip is covered. Be safe & Have fun ! =o)

Walt Disney World is located just south of the Orlando metropolitan area. Therefore, you will need to arrive at the Orlando International Airport (MCO) which is the nearest major airport to Walt Disney World.
If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and booked directly with Disney, you can sign up for free airport transportation via Disney’s Magical Express service. In addition to transportation, you will also recieve free luggage handling to and from your resort hotel, when you arrive at your Disney resort your luggage will be waiting for you in your room. You can add this free transportation option to your Disney reservation by calling Disney directly at:
407-W-DISNEY
If you are not staying at a Disney resort, you should first check with your hotel to see if they offer free airport transportation. If not, you can book a Mear’s Airport Shuttle or catch a taxi cab at the airport.
Hope that helps. Have Fun!

You fly into Orlando (MCO) airport. If you are staying on Disney property…then you can take their free magical express service. If you are staying off property…then there are cabs…car services, buses etc.

Fly into Orlando International. If you are staying at a Disney resort (and if you are going to Disney that is the best way to do it) you can use the Disney Magical Express, a free shuttle service to and from the airport. I used the service in April and it was outstanding. You have to call in advance to set up the arrangements. They send you luggage tags for your bags in advance, then when you get to Orlando Int’l you don’t get your bags, they deliver them to your room. I loved it!

fly into the Orlando International Airport. It is the closest to the parks. Also, getting from the airport to disney can be a disaster, DO NOT ride disney’s magical express to get to your hotel, or DO NOT take mears, or anothr co. like that. I go to florida every year, and i found a company called quicksilver(not the clothing company) and they have a town car ot limo they pick you up in at the airport, and they can take you to your hotel. They can also make a grocery stop for you if you like! It takes about 1 hour to get to your hotel from the airport, and depending on your hotel, it can take anywhere from 3 min.- 20 min. depending on your hotel, if you are staying on disney property!

I’d choose to fly into Orlando International if you can get a decent airfare. Walt Disney World is approximately a 15-20 minute drive from the airport, and you can get there by shuttle bus, taxi, or rental car. If you’re staying at a Disney resort, there’s a free service called "Disney’s Magical Express" which will take you to your hotel, and also has some added benefits…for example, they’ll pick up your bags at baggage claim and deliver them straight to your hotel room.
Sometimes (especially from midwestern and northeastern cities), you can get a really good airfare into Sanford on Allegiant Airlines. If you do that, you’re about 50 miles from Walt Disney World, but you just take the 417 Greeneway all the way to Disney World. From there, I believe that taxis and rental cars are the only way to get to the Disney property.
